Steven Bernard Doersam, of RR#1 Elmwood, passed away at his beloved home on Pearl Lake on Friday, July 22, 2011. He was 65.
Steve was born in Hanover and lived at the Ayton Hotel which was owned by his parents the late Peter Doersam and Jeanette (Noonan). He was self employed as a decorator and painter. Steve had immense pride and love for his family and his passions which included wildlife especially birds, fishing, camping while experiencing Canada, geneology, woodworking, antiques, writing and creating things. He was a handy-man extraodinaire! He proved he could do anything no matter what the challenge. Steve was determined, imaginative, honest and full of integrity. He lived by " where there is a will there is a way" and he had many very creative ideas. Steve was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Hanover. We all love you Steve.
Survived and loved immensely and best friend for 24 years by his wife Maureen Daly, sons Troy (Leanne) Doersam, of RR#1 Elmwood, Andy (Lori) Doersam, of Whitby, Logan Daly-Doersam, of Pearl Lake, grandchildren Brooklyn Doersam, Tanner Doersam, brothers Tom (Pat) Doersam, Barry (Karen) Doersam, both of Hanover, sisters Janette Spooner, of Hanover, Bonnie (Bruce) Koenig, of Southampton, Rosemary Derbecker of High River Alberta and Joanne Beddome of Alberta. He will be fondly remembered by all of his many nieces and nephews and the Lamont family. Also missed by his mother and father in law John and Mary Daly of Hamilton, sisters and brothers in law Joni Daly of Burlington, Paula (Les) Kobli of Oakville, Mary Francis (Chuck) Hildebrand of Iowa, John Daly of Markdale, Dolores Daly and David Donaldson of Caledon and Tom (Barbara) Daly of Kitchener. Predeceased by his parents, first wife Barbara (Lamont) Doersam and sister in law Kathy (Daly) Ditchburn.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:30 am, at Holy Family Church, Hanover. Father Mervin Perera officiating.
Memorial donations to Camp Kumuntome towards new playground equipment would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
