Gus Heldt

Gustave "Gus" Karl Heldt, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover Care Centre, Hanover on Friday, January 27, 2012. 

He was 97.

 

Born in Germany, son of the late John and Annie (Hartwick) Heldt.  Gus was employed with Knechtels Furniture until retiring. Gus spent long hours working at the IWA Hall as well as playing his saxophone in the Frankie Banks Band for many years.

 

Survived by daughter Dianne (Brian) Roseborough of Hanover, sons Karl Heldt of Stoney Creek, Ron (Donna) Heldt of Fenelon Falls, grandchildren Grant (Denise)Roseborough, Jason (Karen) Heldt, Stephen (Erin) Heldt, Nancy (John) Reynolds,  Gwenith Anne Page-Roth (Don), Tracey (Chris) Surdykawaski, Paul Heldt, Susan Heldt, Jennifer Heldt, Christopher Paul Heldt, Laurie Haigh, Debra Heldt, great grandchildren Hunter, Eric, Addyson, Shannone (Ryan), Jake, Sam, Amanda, Laura, Katherine, Adam, Tara, Brittainy, Kyle, Ashley, Nicole, Jessica, great great grandchildren Austin, Kennedy, Chris, Ally, Sophia, Dayton, Adreanna. Predeceased by his wife Hilda (Ahrens) Heldt.

 

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Monday,  2-4 and 7-9 pm.

 

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11:00 am, at First St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Koehler officiating.

Interment in Hanover Cemetery, Hanover.

 

Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Arthritis Society or the charity of ones choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
