Gary Steffler, of R.R. 1 Hanover, passed away on Saturday, February 04, 2012. He was 53.
Born in kitchener, son of the late Gerald and Elizabeth "Betty" (Nafziger) Steffler. Our darling free spirited Gary, peacefully passed into the light February 4, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Gary was a shining example of a person living in the moment and truly enjoyed each and every day! His genuine good nature made everyone feel appreciated and his witty sense of humour brought joy to all around him. Gary wore many hats. As a Friend, Steff, he was loyal, fun, generous and mischievous. He especially enjoyed his trips to Fish Camp and the comrodiery solidified their friendships forever! As a Father, no one could be more supportive or loving towards his beautiful daughter; he lit up at the sight or text from Laura! As a Husband, being kind, loving, romantic and charming was his mantra. His family meant everything to him, he loved Chad and Andrea as his own children. His SEESTER, Diane was not only family, but a best friend and loving confident. His strong nucleus of employees at the Bell World stores in Hanover and Owen Sound held a special place in is heart, and he genuinely cared about their well being. He especially appreciated the friendship and professionalism of his long time Controller, Dennis Fischer, who has been a vital lifeline during his illness. Gary was also a mentor to many young people, providing a solid base of confidence and support for such things as weight training, sporting activities (coach), water skiing, snowmobiling, hockey. And as Chad quoted, "he was the closest thing to a "super hero" you could meet"! As an adventurer, his dream to explore North America in his motor home was realized over the past couple years. Gman enriched the lives of everyone he met, and we are blessed to have known him. Thank you Gary ...love and gratitude!
