Gregory Armstrong

Gregory Joseph Armstrong, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.  He was 87.

Born in Sydenham Township on May 22, 1930 to the late James and Mary (nee McKeown) Armstrong. Gregory was a teacher for the Waterloo County Separate School Board for many years. His involvement with both the Knights of Columbus and the Hanover Legion brought him many friends and memories.

Survived by loving wife Rose (nee Wyszynski) Armstrong of Hanover. Father of Paul (Bonnie) Armstrong of Kitchener, Michael (Carol) Armstrong of Mount Forest, Ruth (Gord) Henrich of Red Bay, Rose (Marlin) Brubacher of Waterloo, Linda (Michael) Reist of Caledon East, Mark (Lisa) Armstrong of Waterloo and Carol (Brian) Glover of Cambridge. Special Grandpa of 16 grandchildren - David (Claire), Terri (Kevin), Erin (Shaun), Melanie (Brent), Brendan (Paula), Valerie (Ron), Stefanie (Kevin), Jamie (Stephanie), Thomas (Cora), Rachel, Justin, Luke, Eric, Ian, Dennis, and John.  Dearly missed by 14 great grandchildren - Kelly, Phoenix, Bobbi, Chloe, Connor, Ellington, Jameson, Gregory, Declan, Maevelyn, Joseph, Ashton, Brenden, and Tyler.  Fondly remembered by sister Ann Goodliffe of Kitchener.  Predeceased by his daughter Loretta Armstrong and brother Harry Armstrong.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, May 18, 2018, from 2-3:30 pm & 7-9 pm, with Vigil Rites at 3:30 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:00 am, at Holy Family Church, Hanover. Father Gary Schlack will officiate.  Cremation to follow, with inurnment in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.

Memorial donations to the Ramoth House - Mount Forest or the Catholic Missions of Canada are appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
