Mary Welechenko

Mary Welechenko, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Hanover and District Hospital with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. She was 91.

Born November 25, 1926, in Gorlitz, Saskatchewan, to the late Bill and Dora (nee Oleksiuk) Danyluk. She lived around Spirit Lake, Saskatchewan and made the move to Toronto in her teen years. She was employed at the Royal York Hotel, until she married her beloved Andrew in Waterford. Together, they had a tobacco farm in London, later moving to the farm in Hanover (commonly known as Knappville) raising dairy and beef cattle. The were married for 57 years. Mary also worked at Horizon Chicks until retiring and served as a member of the Neustadt Fair Board for many years. Long time member of the CWL.

Loving mother of John Welechenko of Manitoba and Peter (Antoinette) Welechenko of Toronto. Dearly missed by her grandchild Andrew (Michelle) and great grandchildren Shyann, Drewlyn, and Daytona. Fondly remembered by her siblings William (Virginia) Danyluk of Toronto, Michael Danyluk of Waterford and Pauline Danyluk of Hanover. Predeceased by her husband Andrew.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-7:30 pm with Vigil Rites at 7:30 pm. Friends and family are invited to the Greenwood Cemetery in Waterford, Ontario for a Graveside Interment Service on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:30 am.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
