Major Wilson Alonzo Twyne
November 26 1947 - June 26 2021
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Major Wilson Alonzo Twyne. He was a Major in The Salvation Army from his commissioning in 1972 until he was Promoted to Glory on Saturday June 26th, 2021 at the age of 73. After fighting a courageous battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully in hospice with his wife at his side.
Loving husband to Laureen and a devoted father to Corrie (Nathan) and Brian (Sarah). Loving brother to George (pre-deceased) (Blanche), Daphne (Stafford pre-deceased), Francis (pre-deceased), Ella Mae (Robert pre-deceased) Pansy (Terry), Ronald (Peggy), Martha (Paul), Douglas (Gloria). A proud grandfather to his 6 grandsons Joshua, Caleb, Avery, Noah, Benjamin and Anthony. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A Public Visitation will be held at the Salvation Army Hall, Hanover on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 12:30 until 1 pm. A private family visitation and service will follow. The service will start at 1:30 pm, and will be Live Streamed on the funeral home Facebook page for those who wish to view the service. Captains Mark and Wendy Crabb officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.

For people unable to join at the time of the service, the live stream video will remain posted and available for viewing afterwards, and will also be posted on the Funeral Home obituary page afterwards.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
He will be remembered and missed by his family and so many wonderful friends. He was an amazing husband and father. Always had a big caring heart, was ready to lend a hand or and ear to anyone at any time!
