Robert "Bob" Parker

Robert "Bob" Gordon Parker, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Chapman House on Saturday, February 12, 2022. He was 79 years.

Born on August 4, 1942 to the late Gordon and Mildred (nee Hamel) Parker. Better known as "Bob" by his friends, he ran the family business Parker's Garage selling and fixing tractors with his brother Bev. Bob was the mechanic and salesman while Bev managed the office and parts counter. He had a passion for anything to do with classic cars. I'm sure we could hear him say that they just don't make them like they used to anymore. He adored driving around in his BelAir and cruising from car show to car show.

Survived by his loving wife Gail (Thompson) Parker of Hanover. Step father of Cheryl (Tyler) Hill of Ayton and Connie Hamel-McFatridge of Kitchener. Special grandpa to Nicole, Cecilia, John, Kenlea and Lexi. Fondly remembered by his siblings Shirley (Jerry) MacPhee of Sarnia, Evonne "Bonnie" Bierworth (Bruce Disney) and Bev Parker both of Hanover. Also remembered by his nieces Debbie (Bob) Simmons, Kim (Karl deceased) Szaefer and nephews Greg (Roxanne) MacPhee and Jeff (Donna) MacPhee. Predeceased by his parents, nephew Scott Bierworth, mother in law Evelyn Thompson, brother in law Ernie Thompson and nephew Kevin Thompson.

In accordance with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Graveside Memorial Service will be held in the spring at Douglas Hill Cemetery, Eden Grove, Ontario. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.

Memorial donations to the Chapman House or to the Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
