Jerry Boeve

Jerry Boeve

Jerry "Gerrit" Boeve, formerly of Ayton, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Hanover and District Hospital on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.  He was 79.

Born in The Netherlands on July 26, 1942 to the late Gerrit and Aaltjen (nee Peterkamp) Boeve. Many will know Jerry from his time with McIntee Real Estate in Hanover and of course the former 'Blondie’s Tavern' in Ayton. Forever an "Ayton-ite" until their recent move to Hanover. Jerry had a love for horse racing, owning several of his own over the years, and was a long time member of Standard Bred Canada. He loved watching his children and grandchildren in their chosen activities, and enjoyed cheering on his Boston Bruins! His enthusiastic nature served him well when "coaching on the sidelines" for the Ayton Greys Hockey Team, and he enjoyed being a member of the Ayton Lions Club. Jerry was very proud of his Dutch heritage and his family in Holland. He was deeply rooted in his faith and was an active member with Trinity Lutheran Church in Ayton.

Survived by devoted wife Diane (nee Bossence) Boeve of Hanover. Loved father of Julie (Pete) Irwin of Ayton and Gerrit Boeve (Becky Jo Hopkins) of Hanover. Special papa of Brooklyn (Kaley), Billie-Jo (Matt), Sadie, Tucker and great papa of Dawson. Fondly remembered by his siblings in Holland: Joop (Tineke) Boeve, Willie (Frans) van Hoorn-Boeve, Gerda (Joost) Baaker and Nelleke (Wietze) Van Der Werf. He will be missed by several nieces, nephews and their families. Jerry will be missed by his very special family pet "Leo".
