We lost our beautiful Mom Norma Ella (Dickert) Karl Thursday, March 31, 2022 in her 90th year.

Norma was the loved wife of the late Joseph P. Karl.  They met on a warm summer evening when Norma was walking with Joe’s sister Bernadette.   Joe picked up his sister and her friend to take them home.  Norma was his companion from then on.  She spent her life looking after her 11 children, gardening, and enjoying her crafts of quilt making and needle work.  Norma was a faithful member of Holy Family Church as well as past president of the CWL and had received her 50 year pin. She will be missed by the congregation.

She is survived by her children: Paul (Sheila) of St. Jacobs, Joan (Dale Klein) of Mildmay, Joyce (Eric Weigel) of Neustadt, Marylou (Darryl Klein) of Mildmay, Peter Karl (Kathleen Wilson) of Bayfield, Robert (Loraine) of Kitchener, Thomas (Heather), Linda (Andy Lehman), Nancy (James Schmidt) all of Hanover, Keith of Guelph and Patricia (Bill Adams)of Waterloo.  Missing her are also 29 grandchildren, and 34 great grandchildren as well as many that have joined the Karl family over the years.

Predeceased by her parents George and Alvine Dickert, siblings Elmer, Vernon, Walter, Ruth, Wilton and Audrey.  Norma was the last of her generation.

Visitation at the Mighton Funeral Home on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Holy Family Church, Hanover at 10:30 am. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed for those wishing to view at home via www.holyfamily.ca Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Holy Family Church Building Fund or to the Hanover & District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
