Lawrence Adolph Belair, of Hanover, passed away after a courageous battle with his health at Hanover Care Centre on Sunday, September 4, 2022. He was 82.

He and Gerry went into business for themselves, operating the Bulk Food Store for many years in Hanover. They enjoyed their winters away in Florida at Lakeland and grew fond of the many neighbours that they made friends with. He was an RCAF radar operator and also worked search and rescue and was proud to be of service. Larry worked for many years at F. Joseph Lamb and as a founding partner at Tri-way Machine Limited in Windsor.

Survived by loving wife Gerry of Hanover, daughters Roseanne Bensette (Jeff Renaud) of Hanover, Kim Craig (friend Carlos) of Windsor, Brenda (Dave) Haesler of Windsor, and son Phill (April) Belair of Barrie. To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the Hanover & District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.

Public Condolences

Dear Jerry and family
Rae and I were sorry to hear of Larry's passing. We enjoyed our time with both of you at the Lakeland Lawn Bowling Club. Larry was a fun guy to be bowling with or against. I remember buying a wood carved pen from him as a gift for our nephew who also enjoyed wood carving.
Our deepest to you and your family,
Rae and Audrey Ney
