Ken Pot

Cornelis 'Ken' Pot

Ken Pot, suddenly while on vacation with his wife Kathleen, in Cuba days before their departure back home, he passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022. He was 64.

Ken (born Cornelis), was born to Anne and Dirk Pot in Kitchener, Ontario, and was raised with his family in Elmira. After living several years with his family in Elmira, Ken moved back to Kitchener for a few short years, where he met his wife Kathleen before moving the Walkerton/Hanover area where they married (1983), and raised their two children. He was a beloved member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Naval Association, where he worked there part-time as a Director, but mostly went to spend time with his friends to relax at the 'Bullshit Table' after a long day's work. As a member of the club he also participated in Octoberfest Celebrations, and Remembrance Day parades. He worked proudly with his father for a few years in the Textile industry in Elmira, before he worked for roughly 25 years at Waterloo Spinning Mills. After moving on, he proceeded to work the next 20-25 years in the office furniture business as a well- respected Lead Hand at both McIntrye Group, and Buildall Installations Inc, both out of Cambridge and surrounding areas. Ken's hobbies included doing different kinds of puzzles, traveling, fishing and bowling. He was in a bowling league for several years with friends and his wife Kathleen.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, children Brittany and Cory, mother Ann Pot, Sisters Jolanda Palach, Dia (Jim) Penny and granddaughter Catherine Kelly. He will be greatly missed by his many, many friends and family.

To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life at the K-W Naval Association in Waterloo on Saturday, July 15th from 1-5pm.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
