David John Blasing, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Hanover and District Hospital on Sunday, May 5, 2024. He was 96.
Born in Normanby Township, son of the late John and Sybilla (Wettlaufer) Blasing.
Survived by his son Robert (Patsy) Blasing, daughter Kathleen Weppler and daughter in law Christine Blasing. Loved grandpa of Ashley, Jessica, Sherri, Bobby and Stephany and 8 great grandchildren. David will be missed by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his beloved wife Edith (nee Petrich) Blasing, son Dennis Blasing, son in law Roy Weppler, brother Harold Blasing and sister Doretta Seifert. The family wish to send their appreciation and thanks to all the Doctors, nurses and dietary staff at both the Hanover & District Hospital as well as the Lodge at The Village Seniors Community for all their care and compassion shown.
To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Private Graveside Service will be held. Pastor Lori Pilatzski officiating. Inurnment in Hanover Cemetery with his wife Edith.
Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation or to the Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
I have known Dave for 50 years. Dave seam to really like Lions head area.
Very nice guy! He drove Artic cats.
