Faye Sophia Neulitz, of Tiverton, formerly of Hanover, passed away at Huron Shores Hospice, Tiverton on Sunday, November 24, 2024. She was 80.
Born in Durham, Ontario, on May 11, 1944, to the late Elmer and Gladys (nee Ritchie) Gardiner. Faye grew up in a large family in Durham, with 13 siblings, and loved her time growing up in her busy household. She then resided in Hanover for over 40 years - many people will remember Faye from her years working at Schultz's Bakery in Hanover. Faye was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who adored and cherished her grandchildren, and loved nothing more than spending quality time with her family. She even often became an ‘adopted mom’ to the many friends of her children who affectionately called her ‘mom’, especially Thomas, Dave and Bert. As much as she loved spending time with family, she loved to keep her home and kitchen organized and clean, and would often be heard yelling at her family to "hurry up and make a sandwich, and get out of here", so that she could get the mess cleaned up and out of her kitchen. She'd also often be heard saying her common phrase "I'll fix your little Red Wagon" with a loving smile. Faye’s special connection with each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will leave a lasting impact – she will be dearly missed.
Loving mother of Rob of Chepstow, Brigitte Grein of Tiverton, Chris (Vanessa) and Andrew (Margaret) both of Hanover. Proud 'Oma' of Tasha, Tanya (Sam), Jordan (Kristine), Keelan, Jerica (Dylan), Colby, Aidan, Sydney, Grace, and Alex, and great-grandmother of Leah, Lauryn, Colton, Alexis, Charleigh, Nolan, and Nixon. Fondly remembered by her siblings and extended family, and many other close friends, especially Charlene and Kathy. Predeceased by her parents, and grandson-in-law Josh Hutton.
A Public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honour Faye’s life and her love for family and friends.
Memorial donations to the Huron Shores Hospice or the Hanover Salvation Army Food Bank would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca
