Mark Antony Cox, of Durham, passed away peacefully with his parents at his side at Hanover and District Hospital on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 after a valiant battle with Esophageal Cancer. He was 59.
Born in Reading England on October 9, 1965 to Raymond and Carol (nee McDonald) Cox. Mark came to Canada when he was 9 years old and enjoyed all of what Canada had to offer. He was always tinkering around with equipment, audio and visual, so much in fact that he made a career of it. He along with his business partner Ryan worked in Owen Sound at Powered Up and then moved the business to Hanover. Totally Wired Audio Visual served many customers through the years and he will be missed by all his clients and colleagues. He had a soft spot for his dogs and most recently his rescue dog (all of the Rotweiller Variety). He could be found with many friends and enjoyed all the time spent just hanging out and playing music.
Survived by mom and dad Carol (nee McDonald) and Ray Cox of Goderich. He will be missed by his business partner Ryan as well as his good friend Dale Medland. Special thanks to Paul and many friends and extended family for all the support and care shown to Mark at this time.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial donations to the Cancer Society or to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca
Dear Carol and Ray,
Please accept my deepest condolences. I am so very sorry for your loss. I hope that someday the emptiness is replaced by love, and the memories of happy times.
I was extremely saddened to hear of Mark's passing, he was far too young. I remember him growing up in the UK before he went to Canada. He always had a cheeky grin on his face. On a holiday there a few years ago, we visited him at his lovely home and he cooked us a delicious fish supper. I'm sure his mum and dad remember that. These are dark times for you Carol and Ray and I send my condolences to you both.
Anne and family (UK)
My condolences to Mark' parents, family and friends. I met Mark as a teenager and he was my first serious boyfriend. He loved his loud music back then, loved his stereo system in his Camaro and gave me hell whenever I would try to touch it We spoke on and off over the years. He reached out to me after I had a heart attack 5 years ago and gave me some great pep talks. Mark will be missed.

Our sincere condolences to the Cox family and friends on the passing of our friend Mark. My wife and I were business clients of Mark's for many years through the audio & video businesses of Powered Up in Owen Sound and later at his business Totally Wired with his partner Ryan in Hanover. Mark was a fun life loving guy and very easy to work with over the years providing a great level of customer service to his clients and friends. We knew Mark was going through a difficult battle recently however he always remained strong through his suffering R.I.P. Mark.
