William Gregory Charles Mulkern, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Hanover and District Hospital on Wednesday May 14, 2025 at the age of 82. Known as "Greg” to family and friends, he was born in Windsor Ontario on November 15, 1942 to the late William and Mamie (nee Case) Mulkern. Greg had a strong sense of family, a great sense of humour and an unwavering work ethic.
Greg was a loving husband to Susan "Sue" Harrison of Hanover who has stood by his side for over forty years, sharing a love of family, travel and their pets. Beloved father to Mike (Margie) and Tara (Stefan), as well as father-in-law to Heather (Robin) and Kelley (Casey). Cherished Papa to Chey, Owen, Abbey, Liam, Desi and Wesley. His back rubs will be missed by treasured dog Kayla. Greg is predeceased by his parents and siblings.
Greg had an avid sense of business and he and Sue were the previous owners of the Tim Hortons in both Walkerton and Hanover. Never too far without his cup of coffee, Greg enjoyed all that the business brought to him and he was able to make lifelong friends out of customers. In his later years, he remained loyal to the business and often stopped by to gather with friends at Tims. Greg was an active member of the Walkerton Rotary club for many years and was always ready to lend a hand.
To honour Greg’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a casual come and go Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, from 1-3 pm at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Saugeen Hospice or the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca

Greg was never just my employer but was a friend. I remember one time I was introducing Greg to someone and I said this is Greg I work for him and Greg was quick to correct me and say no you don't work for me you work with me. I will always have fond memories of not just working with Greg but the friendship of both him and Sue. We were always treated like family. My sympathies and love to Sue and the family.

- John & Patti RussellGreg and Sue were the most amazing employers and helped so many of us young new hires feel so confident and capable. They quickly became like family and always had time to chat. I still smile when thinking of the parties they hosted at their property and recall fondly a Christmas party in town when the teenage crew had plans to go bowling afterward and Greg found out and slipped me some cash to help pay for our second outing that night. In recent years when I would occasionally run into Greg in town I was always met with the biggest smile and lots of questions about life now and my family. Greg will be missed and fondly remembered always. Big hugs to Sue and the family.

Dear Sue and family, My sincere condolences. I had the good fortune to bump into Greg just a few months back when I was in Hanover, and true to form, he invited me for coffee at (of course!) Timmy's. We had a nice chat and got caught up on each other's comings and goings. It was a great visit. I will remember Greg best for his generosity and wonderful presence at the restaurants. He was a walking epitome of what a business owner should be, making all his customers feel welcome and appreciated.

Very sad news. I worked with Greg & Sue from when they opened the new Walkerton Tim Horton's in 1994. He was hard working & very competent, a successful businessman. Of course I sampled the wares of his stores for many years (still) and enjoyed bumping into Greg.
He'll be missed by many.
Our sincere condolences to Sue and family on the passing of Greg. He was a great friend, great Rotarian and great supporter of the community. His tremendous work ethic was second to none. His sense of humor was always enjoyed. We had a lot of laughs together. Will miss him dearly. Rest in peace my friend.
