Wilda "Kay" Luff

Wilda “Kay” (nee Hutchinson) Luff, formerly of Hanover, went to be with her Lord on Thursday January 1, 2026 at the age of 95.  She passed away peacefully at SBGHC-Walkerton.

Born on June 30, 1930 in Owen Sound, Kay lived in Woodford before moving to Mooresburg.  She attended high school in Owen Sound and first worked for Bell before moving to London, where she attended the London Bible Institute.  After graduating, she worked at the Wortley Baptist Church.  In 1965 she became a representative of Pioneer Girls in Western Canada, living first in Vancouver and then Calgary.

Kay met Doug in Vancouver and they married in 1970 at the Zion Evangelical Baptist Church in Elmwood, Ontario.  They settled in Vancouver before moving to Caronport, Saskatchewan, where Kay managed the campus bookstore for Briercrest Bible Institute.  After retiring, they returned to Elmwood and built a home next door to Kay’s parents, and later moved to Hanover.  Kay lived in their condo until relocating to Maple Court Retirement Residence in Walkerton in 2021.  Her final move was to Rockwood Terrace in Durham in 2025.

Lovingly remembered by step-daughters Dianne Schoening of Newfoundland and Deborah Laing of Holland Landing, sisters-in-law Fern Hutchinson of Chesley and Joan Hutchinson of London, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Kay will be missed by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Beloved wife of William “Doug” Luff until his passing in 2014.  Predeceased by parents Walter Dixon and Ula Mae (nee Jolley) Hutchinson, as well as younger brothers Robert, Graydon and Allan, and son-in-law Ian Laing.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.  Spring internment in Chesley Cemetery, Chesley, Ontario.

Memorial donations to ShareWord Global or SBGHC Chesley or Walkerton Site would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
