Jane Radke

Jane Radke

Jane Foster Radke of Hanover passed away peacefully, though unexpectedly, surrounded by family at Hanover and District Hospital on Saturday, January 17, 2026, following her return from a much-enjoyed family vacation to Mexico. She was 88 years old.

Born in Woodstock on October 15, 1938, Jane was the beloved daughter of the late Hector Roblin Murdy and Lottie Murielle Murdy (née Copeland). She will be fondly remembered throughout the Hanover community as a devoted and deeply compassionate nurse at Hanover Hospital. Jane had a rare gift—often just a glance was enough to convey understanding, reassurance, and care. Her lifelong passion for community and helping others was freely and generously given. Organizations including the Hanover Auxiliary, Parkinson’s, and the Hanover Library benefited from Jane’s enthusiasm, kindness, and unwavering dedication.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Rob Norris and his wife Suzanne of Manitoulin Island, and her daughter Libby Norris of Mississauga. A cherished Grandma to Alex, Jeremy, and Nicholas, and his wife, Ashlee. Jane was also a treasured “Aunt Jane” to many, holding a special place in countless hearts. Jane was predeceased by her first husband, Don Norris, and her second husband, Stewart “Stu” Radke.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Jane’s life with a Memorial Service held at Grace United Church, Hanover on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jenn Brown officiating. Following the service there will be a time of visitation and reception in the church Hall. Cremation has taken place with family and inurnment at Hanover Cemetery planned for spring.

Memorial donations to Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario (specific to PSSO) or the Hanover Library would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca.

Libby, Alex, Rob, Suzanne, and family. This is a huge loss and words cannot express the sorrow this brings.
Jane had a spirit that captivated us all. She was a source of boundless compassion. You could ask for her advise without fear of judgement.
Jane brought out the good in me, and so many others. There was never a loss of anything to talk about. We laughed so much ! She got my quirky, and sometimes naughty, sense of humour. Lib, Jane, and I spent many hours talking and laughing like girl friends. She wasn't just Libby's Mom, she was my friend. She holds a very special place in my heart.
She never complained about my relentless requests for her home made scones. I received many care packages over the years and it was a little thing that made me feel special.
Time with Jane was always time well spent. We will all miss her so much.
I wish you peace and comfort as you navigate this difficult time.
Love Anne
XOXO
