

Steven Arnold Salt, of Hanover, passed away surrounded by his family at Hanover and District Hospital on Friday, April 3, 2026.
He was 70.
Born in Salford, England on January 12, 1956 to the late Arnold and Joyce (nee Crossley) Salt.
Devoted husband of Phyllis (nee McCaig) Salt of Hanover. Beloved father of David (Shannon) Salt, Niklas (Brittney) Salt and Hayley Salt. Special granddad to Aidan, Logan, Lyla and London. Remembered by his sister Corinne Salt as well as the entire McCaig family including family from England, Scotland and America. Steve will be missed by his close friends; the Blinstons, the Booths, the Balchins, the Robertsons, the Coes and his many teammates and enemies on the pitch.
A private family visitation was held. Cremation has taken place.
Memorial donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca
