

Shirley Fletcher, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at McVean Lodge in Hanover on Monday, June 1, 2026. She was 94.
Born in Grand Valley on November 16, 1931 to the late Robert and Pearl (nee Fair) Sime. Shirley was a dental hygienist for years then joined her husband in a family owned business they built together of Sports Travel Homes (a travel trailer) business leading to building their own brand of motor homes called Shircan. They managed to become Canadas number one dealership .
Survived by sons Dave (Barb) Fletcher of Mount Forest, Paul (Gail) Fletcher of Harriston, daughter Teresa Fletcher and daughter in law Donna Fletcher-Gilbert (Mike) both of Hanover. Loved grandmother of Mitchell (Amelia), Cory (Jamie), McCloud (Corie), Keaton, Brittney (Josh) and Anthony and great grandmother of great grandchildren Myla, Coulsen, Rhys, Hank, Mack and Bowen. Remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her husband Roy and sons Gary, Carl and her sister Alma (George) Thomas.
Missing her dearly is Shirley’s private RN Linda DiFant that she has had for the past 4 years that brought love, kindness, joy and friendship into her life and Shirley absolutely adored as well as her two special friends that were a very special part of her life; Laurie and Christina Duguay.
Special thank you to all the staff and management at McVean Lodge for all their care, compassion and friendship she received for the past 8 years during her time there and the activation department for all the fun activities Shirley was a part of… you all were a blessing to her.
Family and friends are invited to a Graveside Service held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 1 pm at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Guelph.
