Shawn Patrick Molson

Shawn Patrick Molson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Shawn Patrick Molson, a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend.  He passed away suddenly on June 21, 2026 at the age of 48, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, service, and love that touched countless lives.

For more than 20 years, Shawn served his community as a paramedic, answering the call to help others in their most difficult moments. His dedication, professionalism, and caring nature made a lasting impact on the people he served and the colleagues who had the privilege of working alongside him. Helping others was not simply his profession—it was who he was.

Outside of his career, Shawn found joy in the outdoors. Whether he was casting a line on a quiet river or spending time at his cabin hunting with friends, he felt most at peace outdoors. He was an avid sports fan who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams.

Above all else, Shawn loved people. He was known for his kind heart, thoughtful nature, and genuine interest in others. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and cared for. His laughter, encouragement, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Shawn was a devoted son, a cherished brother, and a proud uncle. The love he shared with his family was evident in everything he did. He created countless memories that will be treasured forever and leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will carry his spirit in their hearts always.

Though our hearts are broken by his loss, we take comfort in remembering a life lived with generosity, and love. His legacy will continue through the many lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.

Forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

Loved by his parents Patrick and Phyllis (nee Priebe) Molson of Hanover. Dear brother of Shannon (Robert) Kuepfer of Kitchener. Special uncle of Tyler (April), Abigail (Lyle) and Gracie (Enoch) as well as great uncle of Willson and soon to be babe arriving in September. Remembered by Laura (Zavitz) Molson.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, July 3, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Private Graveside Service will be held at the Hanover Columbarium at a later date.

Memorial donations to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation or to Teen Challenge would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mightonfuneralhome.ca

My condolences, thoughts and prayers go to Shawn's family on their loss
I worked with Shawn with Bruce County Paramedic Services, and when I started there he was a Superintendent.
He always was welcoming and supportive to me and is one of the reasons why I enjoy my time with the service. Every shift that I work there when he was in the CP program he would always make sure to say good morning to me.
I will miss his positive energy, may he rest in peace and enjoy the next journey

Deepest sympathies to Shawn's family. Always a smiling face no matter the circumstance. Shortly after our arrival in 1995 and for years later, along with his paramedic partner, he demonstrated keen positive energy, the desire to help others and make the system better and inspired others to be better.

Our most sincere condolences to Shawn's family, friends, and co-workers. I knew of, but never met Shawn until after the provincial download in 1999. We both participated in the initial round of collective bargaining for the newly created Bruce County Emergency Medical Services, and became friends because of that service. He eventually became my supervisor, and was always kind to his crews, but more importantly, he always deferred to the experience of the northern crews who had always adapted to the unique challenges that isolation, limited resources, and working with a large variety of allied agencies such as National and Provincial Parks, Coast Guard Canada, the Tobermory Hyperbaric Facility, and other agencies who the crews in the south never had to engage with. He always respected and acknowledged these unique relationships, and was always a pleasure to work with. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the affected souls that he touched. God bless and keep Shawn and all of his loved ones in His care. 😊❤️
