Glenda Marie Ellig (Kueneman), passed away peacefully at the Hanover Hospital on August 19th, 2026, with her family at her side. She was 87 years old.
She was devoted to and cherished by her husband, family, and her faith. Glenda was born November 21st, 1938, to the late Albert & Mildred Kueneman. Glenda enjoyed her working careers at the Hanover Medical Center and Carson Cleaners. In her retirement she loved lawn bowling and jig saw puzzles.
For the past two and a half years Mom resided at McVean Lodge where she received great care and made many friendships “with her girls” and other residents. We know her hugs will be missed.
Survived by her devoted and loving family, daughter Penny (Jeff) Speer, son Randy (Analiza) Ellig, Grandchildren Jordan (Jennifer) Speer, Tyson (Kaitlyn) Speer, Evan Ellig, Gale (Paolo) DeLuca, Maureen Cabiles. Great granddaughters Selene DeLuca and Layla Speer.
Predeceased by her loving husband Walter Ellig, her parents Albert and Mildred Kuenenman, brother Gerald Kuenenman, daughter in law Cynthia Ellig.
Following her wishes a Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday August 27th, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hanover. At 10:00 am the family will be present at the back of the church to remember Glenda prior to the funeral and her celebration of eternal life at 11:00 am.
A private family inurnment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover.
Memorial donations to the Hanover and District Hospital Foundation or to Holy Family Catholic Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
