

Donald Howard Kerr, of Hanover passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026 in his 92nd year at the Village Seniors Community.
Don lived in Hanover for most of his life and many will remember him from his time working at IGA and A&P as a meat cutter. He was a dedicated volunteer fireman with the Hanover Fire Department.
Remembered by his children Barb (John) Stevenson, Dawn (Harold) Heibein and Dan (Susie) Kerr. Loved poppa of nine and eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Fondly remembered by his siblings Karen Waechter, Elaine Kerr, (Karen), Larry Kerr and his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Howard and Susan (nee Greenwood) Kerr, beloved wife Shirley (nee Weis) (2004), grandson Devon (2021), sister "Tootsie" Verna (Louis) Whaling, brothers Murray (Margaret) Kerr, Gary Kerr, and in laws Joe Waechter, and Margaret Kerr.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 11:00 am. Inurnment in Hanover Cemetery. All are welcome. Please feel free to bring your lawn chairs.
Special thanks to the Staff of The Village LTC for the excellent care and compassion that was shown to Dad over the past 10 months and to Drs. Lassaline and Eckensweiler for their excellent care.
