Emma Maas

Emma Maas, life long resident of Hanover, passed away peacefully at McVean Lodge, Hanover on Thursday, August 17, 2017. She was in her 105th year.

Born in Normanby Township on October 19, 1912 to the late George and Laura (nee Wesch) Maas. Life long member of St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Hanover, she will be fondly remembered by many people. Amazingly enough she was able to remain in her own home up to her 100th year when her health forced her to consider alternate living arrangements.

Survived by loving nephew Don (Iris) Maas of Hanover, nieces Helen Bryce-Hoy of Kitchener, Elaine (Bill) Chalmers of Neustadt, Jean Wittich of Indianna, USA. and a niece in law Hazel Maas of Hanover. She will be missed by her many great, great great and great great great nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Predeceased by her siblings Rose Weppler, Enoch Maas, August Maas, John Maas, Clara Maas, Frieda Nickason, niece Marlene Steele and nephew Lawrence Maas and nephews in law Doug Wittich, Bill Hoy and Howard Bryce.

Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017 at St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church (356-9th Street, Hanover) at 11:00 am. Rev. John Polacok officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery, Hanover.

Memorial donations to the St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church - Hanover or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
