Lloyd Secord

Lloyd Secord

Lloyd Stuart Secord, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, May 26, 2025. He was 86.

Born in Burford Township on March 17, 1939 to the late John and Vera (nee Wright) Secord.

Lloyd was the ultimate original cowboy. He loved the steel engine of a Truck and the horse power it produced. He drove tractor trailers over 3,000,000 miles accident free, covering every land locked province and state in both Canada and the US. His trucker handle was The King of Hearts. He enjoyed watching the good ole movies, especially anything with John Wayne. He had a love for playing cards, watching baseball games, going for walks and meticulously maintaining his lawn. Nothing gave him more pleasure than sitting behind the wheel, even if only driving the back roads and enjoying the scenery.

Survived by his beloved wife Jean (nee Timpson-Bauman) Secord of Hanover. Loved father of Joel (Dawn) Secord and Lori (Oswald) Ffrench. Step father of Mark Bauman, Mona Bauman, Bradley Seip and Liane (Steve) Wild. Much loved Granddad of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear brother of Patrick Secord, Barb Secord, Judy (Lloyd) Self, Joan Secord and Shirley (Ken) Pegelo. Remembered by his sister-in-law Rita Secord. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Gerald Secord, Bill Secord, Howard Secord and sisters Joyce Derbowka and Alice (Clyde) Akins. Lloyd was also predeceased by his first wife June (nee Shepherd) and his second wife Elizabeth (nee Gregory).

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation held at Grace United Church in Hanover on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10-10:45 am, where a Memorial Celebration Service will be held at 11:00 am. Pastor Jenn Brown officiating. Private family inurnment in the Hanover Cemetery Columbarium.

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
